Resharpening Services
Restore worn gun drill cutting geometry.
Restore cutting performance and extend usable tool life without complete replacement.
Resharpening restores the cutting geometry of a worn gun drill tip. A correctly resharpened gun drill performs identically to a new tool.
When to resharpen
- Surface finish is degrading before the end of the expected tool life.
- Bore diameter is drifting toward the lower tolerance limit.
- Cutting force or power consumption is increasing noticeably.
- The tip shows visible wear on the primary cutting edge or margins.
What we do: The tool is inspected on receipt. Worn geometry is reground on CNC tool grinding machines to restore the original point angle, clearance, and margin profile. The resharpened tool is re-inspected against original geometry before return.
Important: Resharpening removes a small amount of tip stock with each cycle. The number of resharpens a tool can sustain depends on the original tip length and the stock removal per resharpen cycle.
Custom geometries are available based on application. Forward your requirement for assessment.
